Outline

1. Log in to your site's administration
2. From the top menu: 'Components' > 'Virtuemart'
3. From the left menu: 'Tax' > 'List Tax Rates'
4. Click 'New' or click the line of the tax rate you would like to change
5. Choose:
• Tax Country
• Tax State
• Tax Rate (use the decimal instead of percentage, ie for 16% => fill in 0.16)
6. Click 'Save'

Your site will now charge taxes to only the customers who live in the state you entered in step 5. If you need to charge taxes in more states, repeat the above steps.
