Virtuemart - Adding category links to the left or main menu

If you want to add a link for a specific category to your left or top main menu, do the following:

Get the Category ID number:

1. Log in to your site's administration
2. From top menu: 'Components' > 'Virtuemart'
3. From the left menu: 'Products' > 'List Categories'
4. Find the category you want to make a link to, in the far right column note the category's ID number

Create the Menu Link:

1. From the top menu: 'Menus' > (click the menu you want to add to)
2. Click 'New'
3. Click 'Virtuemart' (under the 'Internal Link' section)
4. Enter the 'Title' (the name of the menu item)
5. On the right side of the page click 'Parameters (Component)'
6. In the 'Category ID' section, enter the category ID that you noted in step 4
7. Click 'Save'

You can do the same to link directly to a product, instead, in step 4 go to the products page and in step 10, enter the ID number in the 'Product ID' field.

You can also do the same to link to a complete list of your categories rather than a specific category. Go straight to creating the menu link and skip steps 5 and 6.
