VirtueMart - Adding Products

Outline

1. Log in to your administration and from the top menu: 'Components' > 'Virtuemart'
2. From the left menu 'Products' > 'List Products'
3. Click 'New' from the top left corner
4. Product Information Tab (this tab is required)
   
• SKU - a sku or product number (this is required and must be unique to this one product)
  
• Name - The name of your product
  
• Product Price (Net) - The price of your product
• Discount Price -
  
• Short Description - here you can enter a short product description
  
• Categories -(use the ctrl key to select multiple categories)
  
• Product Description - here you can enter the complete product description
5. Display Options (this tab is not required)
• All settings in this tab are advanced settings, that you do not need to change unless for a specific reason.
6. Product Status (this tab is not required)
• In Stock
• Minimum Purchase Quantity
• Maximum Purchase Quantity
• On Special (to show the product on the home page 'Featured Products')
  
• Attribute list (view the tutorial on adding Attributes - ie dropdown choices)
• Custom attribute list (view the tutorial on adding Attributes - ie dropdown choices)
7. Product Dimensions and Weight (this tab is not required)
• If you use a shipping module the required weight, enter it here, not necessary for our default sites.
  
8. Product Images (this tab is highly recommended)
• Browse for the full image, once you have found it, make sure that 'Auto-Create Thumbnail?' is chosen.
9. Related Products (this tab is not required)
• Here you can choose related products to be displayed at the bottom of this product's page.
10. Click 'Save'
