Are you seeing something like the following on the bottom of your homepage?

Cause:

Your website has been set to show a set of 'Featured Products' at the bottom of your homepage. If you do not have any products in your shopping cart that are set to show in the featured products section, then you will see this error.

Solution:

There are two solutions for this problem. One would be to set any of your products as special (so they will show on the home page) or to disable the 'Featured Products' portion of your site.

To set a product to show as a featured product:

1. Log in to your administration
2. From the top menu: 'Components' > 'Virtuemart'>
3. From the left menu: 'Products' > 'List Products'
4. Click on the title of the product that you would like on the homepage
5. Click the ‘Product Status’ tab
6. Click ‘On Special’
7. Click Save.

To disable the 'Featured Products' funtion

1. Log in to your administration
2. From top menu 'Extensions' > 'Module Manager'
3. Click on 'Featured Products'
4. Set 'Publish' to 'No'
5. Click 'Save' (to re-enable this feature, set 'publish' to 'yes')
