Joomla Tutorial - Working with the Editor

If you ever have problems working with the editor that your site uses, you can easily try another editor. To change your sites editor:

  1. Log in to the administration
  2. From the top menu choose 'Site' > 'Global Configurations'
  3. From the 'Site' tab change the 'Default WYSIWYG Editor' to one of the other options
  4. Click 'Save' - you can repeat this process as much as you would like

Outline

This tutorial outlines the Text portion of the editor that you will find throughout the administration- such as when editing/adding pages or products.

- Sets the selected text to BOLD

- Sets the selected text to Italics

- Sets the selected text to Italics

- Sets the selected text to Strikethru

- Formats text as described

-  Formats the line with a bullet point or numeral

- Indents or un-indents the selected line

- Justifies text to Left, Center, Right or Full

- Undo and Redo button - great for mistakes!

- Using selected text will create a link to another page and break the link 

- Creates an anchor link (Anchor link is a link to a spot on the same page)

- Format the image that is selected

- Cleans up html if neccessary

- Shows the straight HTML code for the page

- find specific text on the page

- replace text with new supplied text

- Inserts the date

- Inserts the time

- Insert a smiley face

- Insert an uploaded video clip

- Sets or reverses direction

- Add a second layer, great for adding content onto images

- Changes color or selected text

- inserts a full width solid line 

- Removes any formatting from selected text

- Hides or shows table lines and borders

- Inserts a subscript or superscript

- Inserts a custom character 

-Inserts a line with the choice of height, shaddow and width

- Inserts a table

- Formats the table - mouse over for description

- Uses full screen mode

- Edits the CSS (or text formatting) for the page
